The work

Real sites, live right now.

Two of them, both running today, both built by one person. Open them and click around. A screenshot proves nothing on its own, which is why every one of these has a link straight to the real thing.

01 / Simi Valley, California

A family pool company that had outgrown word of mouth.

Matt and Elizabeth clean and repair pools across Simi Valley and most of the San Fernando Valley. The job of the site was to make a two person family business look like the most reliable company in the area, and to load fast on a phone standing next to a green pool.

Open asjempools.com
The ASJEM Pools homepage, showing a sunlit pool and the headline about a pool that is ready every time you walk outside
01The opening makes one promise, and the proof sits directly underneath it: the rating, the certification, the insurance, and no long term contract. A homeowner gets all four before they scroll.
The services section of the ASJEM Pools site, with three service cards
02The work grouped into three plain categories, each with a line about what actually happens when they turn up. No jargon, because the person reading it does not own a pool company.
A before and after section titled Green on Monday, Blue by the weekend
03Green on Monday, blue by the weekend. Before and after is what actually sells pool work, so it gets the width of the screen rather than a thumbnail in a corner.
More before and after photographs of real pool jobs
04Real jobs, photographed in the same valley the customer lives in. Stock photography would have quietly undone the whole argument.
A section introducing the owners by name
05The owners, by name and by face. A family business should look like one, and knowing who is coming to the house does more work than any list of features.
A section listing every city served, and the closing call to action
06Every city they serve, written out in plain text. It reads naturally to a person and it is also exactly how a search engine learns where this business works.

Built for the phone first, because that is what a homeowner is holding when the pool has gone green and they need somebody today.

02 / Southern California

A marketplace built for pool professionals.

Pool pros end up with equipment on the shelf they will never fit, and spend their mornings hunting for the one part they do need. POOLXCHANGE lets them buy, sell and trade with each other instead. This one is not a brochure site. It has accounts, listings, search by part number, categories, and messaging between members.

Open thepoolxchange.com
The POOLXCHANGE homepage with a part number search bar
01The search bar is the entire homepage, because a pool tech arrives knowing exactly which part they need. Part number, model or brand, filtered by how far they are willing to drive.
Equipment categories including pumps, filters, heaters and salt systems
02Sorted into the categories a pool pro already thinks in: pumps, filters, heaters, automation, salt systems, lighting, plumbing. Nobody has to learn a new vocabulary to use it.
A live listing showing a salt cell system with its part number and price
03Listings carry the part number, the condition and the price, so the person on the other end can tell in one glance whether it is the thing they are looking for.
A three step explanation of how POOLXCHANGE works, and the join call to action
04Three steps in plain words, then one thing to do. Post what is gathering dust, search for what you are missing, message the other company directly. No commission and no middleman.

The whole thing works from a phone in a truck, which is where this particular customer actually is.

Yours could be the next one on this page.

Twenty minutes on the phone and I will tell you what I would build and what it would cost. If it is not a fit, I will say so.
